Power windows work without key
I noticed that my power windows will go up and down when I push the switch, eventhough the car can be off and key out of ignition. Key doesn't even have to be in the accessories position. I have an '82TA. Probably a dumb question but is this normal?? I would think not, but you never know. It would have to be getting power directly from the battery wouldn't it??

There is a terminal board, has about 10 or 12 terminals on it, above the hood release handle thing where it bolts to the kick panel. It has one row of terminals that feed battery to various high-power optional accessories that should run off of that (hatch release, power seats, and so on), and one that feeds ignition to others, as appropriate.
You need to identify the power windows feed wire, which you will find plugged onto a battery supply point no doubt; easiest way would be to unplug them one at a time until you find the one that kills the windows. Then plug it back onto an ignition one.

I'll check i t out. I noticed that there are a few wires that seem to be hooked up to the fuse block. It seems like they have a terminal on the end and are just "plugged" in with the fuse. Don't know what they are or if it has anything to do with the windows. Probably not, but who knows. I know that that can't be normal as well. I hate when people hack into wiring...most of the time they don't know what the hell they are doing. Also, I noticed what looks like a dome light under the dash right near the fuse panel. Is there susposed to be a light hooked up there? There isn't one in mine, but it looks like there should be. Anyone see this before??

Yes, there's supposed to be a light.
No, if the wiring is anywhere near factory, the power window wire isn't at the fusebox. It's at the "junction block", as I described. I don't think that wire will even reach to the fuse box.
To make it easier on you, all the terminals down the left (rearward) side of the "junction block" are battery; all the terminals down the right-hand (front) side are ignition. If you look at it, you'll probably see one pink wire plugged into the side where all the other wires are red. Move it over to the pink side.
It's best, if you don't know much about wiring, to follow instructions from someone who does and who has the schematic and/or service manual, and see where that leads; before just going in and hacking on stuff and unplugging things that aren't identified. Try doing what I told you before messing with anything else.

Here's a picture out of the service manual that shows where each "option" should plug into. I agree RB83L69 that somehow it got plugged into the wrong side.
The under dash lights were part of the courtesy lamp option. This included two lights under the dash in the hush panels, a center console glove box light, and a rear trunk light. The sockets are molded into the hush panels weither the car had the option or not.
