Best Tune-Up Parts

Just wondering what are the best tune up parts..

What are the best Plugs.Wires.Fluids..etc..

What else goes in to a tuneup besides Plugs/Wires/Filters?

A good tune-up should include spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap and rotor, oil change w/oil filter, fuel filter, air filter, oxygen (O2) sensor, and drive belt. It also wouldn't hurt to change the rear axle fluid and transmission fluid and filter at least every other tune-up.

It's really hard to say what the best fluids, parts, etc. are. It's really all just opinions. I personally have had no problems with companies like Autolite, AC Delco, and GP-Sorensen. I would suggest 2 things though, stick with AC Delco spark plugs and stay away from Fram oil filters.

A lot of people prefer using all synthetic fluids in everything, the motor, tranny, and rear axle. Synthetic fluids are proven to be better than conventional fluids, but they are more expensive. It's all just in you wallet and preference.

Not at all. Never really had any luck with any additives, in any car.

If you need an additive, you need a rebuild! lol

Another word to the wise, do NOT use the Bosch Platinum plugs!!! Great for the first 1000 or so miles, but then they work like crap

You should really do your research, I like to use the least resistant spark plug cables I can find (Not cheap) and some pretty hot plugs...

I've had good luck with additives, Lucas makes a nice additive for fuel that put shot my mpg on freeway up 4mpg (I was getting 8 before and averaged 12)

Smoke/Leak additives stay away from...

Octane boost is a waste imo

Trickshift in tranny is nice, you can see an improvement

okay i'm done

I have a pile of new/used sparkplug wires in the garage. Msd 8.5 super conductors are the lowest resistant plug wires ive ever tested with a meter.

Well worth the money!
