Converting a 92 TransAm to an 82 TransAm...

Ok, I hope I don't offend anyone... but...

My favorite TransAm is the 1982 black & gold. Would it be possible that you know of.. to redo the entire outside body as a 1982? As far as I know, all I'd have to do is remove the ground effects and replace it with the "bell bottom" flares from an 82-83, get a hood from an 82-83 or Formula, replace the nose, and replace the rear taillights. Is there anything else I'm missing?

By the way, this is 82-T/A, but I haven't posted here in almost 2 years and forgot my password.

The headlights are different too.

If you really want an 82... ummmm, go buy one. I think its a waste of money to do what you are talking about, but I guess its your money and your car.

Well, my reasoning behind this is because I can't find a single 82 in decent condition anywhere around me. There are plenty of 92 Firebirds, plus I can get one with the 350 which I'd much rather have.

Tail lights are different too. Hmm.. I have a set I'll sell you for $40 plus shipping.. email me at alan@it21.com if you want them... I also have a rear bumper cover that is also different for $50 plus shipping... I like the early 82-84 TA's better too.

Axle/Gears: it's part of the transmission
why not just get an '82-'84 (I like the '84 body style myself) install the '92 TPI 5.7?
