possible dist. 1 tooth off?
ok I installed a new cam, and intake set my timing to were the car said to (at 0) with est disconnected, car runs fine, but surges at idle with tranny in gear after all warmed up, and wants to die, and when it does die it hotstarts like its overadvanced, and when I advance it (even just 2 degrees) I notice more power but it detonates bad, and hotstarts bad. When its set at 0 its doesnt hotstart as bad, but feels really slow. So whats your opinion on this, possibly just a tooth off on the distributor? I noticed when i put it all back together the rotor was a little off from the plug in the cap, and the marks was at o TDC when i put in the dist.

If you are setting your timing with a timing light, then one or 10 teeth off isn't going to make a difference on how it runs. If you are doing it "static", or setting it by marks you made before taking it apart, that's a different story. But, one tooth is a whole bunch more than 2 degrees.
