LG4 Build Up ;)
Hi all,
I have a stock LG4 305 4bbl, with I'm guessing about 50,000 miles on it. It uses very little oil so it is in quite good shape. Here is what I have done so far.
- Crane vacuum advance and spring kit
- Tweaked Qjet with AK rods, G hangar and fast opening secondaries
- No catalytic converter
- No air pump
I'm quite surprised how strong this little mouse pulls already! It has no trouble burning the rear tires
Anyway, I'm inheriting a set of headers and 3 inch pipes for it next spring, thus I want to keep the mods restricted to the engine itself.
What extras do you guys recommend that will keep this engine just as easy to run on the street as it is now? I'm not excited about pulling the heads or installing a cam, as that is a lot of dough. How many
horsepower do you think it would have with the addition of an Edelbrock Performer intake? How many horsepower
do you think it is sporting right now?

No guesses on power but an intake should free up at least 15hp, maybe alot more. I have always had good luck with replacing factory manifolds with aftermarket ones. Parts get kinda expensive after that, you will have to decide how much you wanna spend.
