engine rebuild...

I am not looking to go through the hassle of changing from a v.6 to v8 but I am looking for some more horsepower... I am rebuilding the eninge soon and I was wondering if there was a couple of things you guys might suggest on the engine rebuild to me to give me a little more pick up... also some v6 mods such as filters, cold-air, ignition components etc...

thanks
Raymond

Guessing you have the 2.8. Instead of rebuilding the 2.8, why dont you look into a 3.4? The 3.4 will slip right in and give some more toque and HP. You should be able to get one from a U-Pull-It for not too much. Then, on a 3.4, you will get more power from your mods than a 2.8.

The 2.8 is a good motor for a V6, I had one. However, anytime you have a good reason (Excuse) for getting a bigger motor, why not do it?

Doing a good job of porting the heads, picking a decent but mild cam, and raising the compression some will help out. Using a 3.4 is a good option.
