Difference between 305 heads?
Is there a difference between the heads used on the carbureted LG-4 (low output), the carbureted L-69 (high output) and the 305 TPI motors?
I am aware that the later TPI heads have the different intake pattern, but are they any difference in design other than that between the three? Valve sizes, chambers, ports?

AFAIK they are all the same. In 85, when all 3 of those were available, I believe they all used 416 castings. I know for sure the 2 carb motors used those.

85 and 86 TPI cars have the 416 heads. I know those are the supposed HO heads.
I dunno about the differences on the later ones, I didnt take the heads off the engine I have so I cant really comment on that. I can tell you a 91 305 TPI engine doesnt have swirl port heads

i'm pretty well sure the 85's and 86's all had the same heads. Every LG4 and LB9 in those two years i've seen both have the 416 heads.
and all 3 86lg4's have had flattop valve reliefed pistons a-la L69 style as well.
the 416 heads all have the 1.84/1.5 vavles that i know of.
