worn idler arm

worn idler arm

how hard is it to change an idler arm? whats involved. the car is an 84 monte carlo. im only used to changing them on rice burner racks.

I'm gonna say it's as easy as changing one on a 'maro... there's the 2 bolts on the frame and that's about it. Gotta make sure you set the height right, torque it, and you're done. The height is supposed to be the same as the pitman arm on the other side, usually referenced by the flat spot on the relay rod. Just put a socket on the control arm bolt right by it, measure the distance to the height of that flat spot and make it the same for the idler arm - piece of cake...
