Crazy Coolant Leak
I have a perplexing problem, I have coolant dripping off the rear main seal housing. I recently had the engine jacked up to remove my headers & while the engine was sitting the leak started. It never did it while the engine was running. I have not started the engine since I discovered the leak. The first thing that came to mind was I cut a heater hose near the firewall when I jacked the engine up. Checked that & found dry hoses. Any ideas would be would welcomed.

I was thinking freeze plug too, but I don't want to pull the tranny until I am reasonably sure. The rear of the intake is dry,as far as I can tell. This a fairly new motor with about 2500 miles on it.

I would try to pressure test the system and crawl underneath the car to locate leak. Rear freeze plugs leaking suck...ask me how I know (on a brand new engine)!!

No oil cooler, that would be too simple. I will try the pressure test method, tommorrow. Good idea, thanks.

Found the problem. Being the front of the car was jacked up, it was leaking from the water pump to block seal and running down and along the oil pan rail, then dripping off the rear main housing.
