vacuum advance
vacuum advance
Hi Have a 85 camaro and i use to have a quadrajet and now i bought a edelbrock 1406 perfomer series. I forgot to check the vacuum advance on the quadrajet before i took off the carb. Now i don't know which one to hook up. How do I tell if I need a full or timed vaccum advance.
Thanks

Is it a car?
You probably need timed advance (actually, ported).
Is it driven on the street?
You definitely need ported advance.
Odds are, your old carb didn't have that port anyway, since it was most likely computer-controlled.
