car runs really bad after injector swap

i just put my 1988 trans am 305 tpi back together and it now runs horrible. I replaced the intake maniford gasket, the stock injectors with ford racing 19lb injectors, the fpr with a holley afpr. The car seems like the timing is all over the place which makes me think that i might have installed the distributer wrong. I tried to adjust the timing but its all over the place. I set the fuel pressure to 50. any ideas?

If 50 psi isnt the stock rating for them, then 50 psi may be too much pressure. Try backing it down to the stock rating and see if it runs any better.

I agree with the dimented one. Set your fuel pressure back to 43.5 psi and go from there. Setting it at 50 psi with those injectors is = ~ 20.4 lb./hr and will cause your engine to run too rich.

vacume leak

turns out i have a big vacume leak where the runners meat the intake manifold. I have edelbrock hi-flo runners and when i installed them i used the stock gaskets instead of the edelbrock gaskets that they came with. I held a cigarette and the smoke was going into the bottom of the passenger side runners. Also, i used the gaskets that the ford injectors came with so I think that they are too small and could possible be causing a leak. I can hear the air so i think thats my problem

i am also having a problem adjusting the fuel pressure. I have a holley afpr and the big wheel in top is rubbing against the plenum so i cant lower the pressure

Oh, about the timing. dont know if you know yet but the est bypass connector must be disconnected. This removes the advance from the ecm. Otherwise, youll never see what the base timing is.

code 34 is showing up now, would that show up because of a vacume leak at the runners or is that an intake manifold leak

Yes. It could be either.
