tune up- wonder if this is true
i went and called today for a tune up and the guy tried to tell me u only have to get a tune up every 100,000 miles. is he an idiot? i truly think so. im still gettin a tune up cuz it needs it.

Newer cars can go 100,000 miles before a tuneup, because most come with platnum plugs and they last a long time. Sounds like you need to find a different shop or just do it yourself. Whatever you do, I'd put plug wires, cap and rotor in it while I was at it.

your shop hasnt been around very long then lol. New cars can go 100,000 miles w/o a tune up... would I go 100,000 w/o a tuneup on a new car though? No, lol.
In your car I would do ignition tune-up about every 20,000-30,000 miles (or less depending on how hard you drive it or if they're mostly highway miles)

My first mod to my 98 SS was to pull the plat. plugs and put in copper. An older car like a 3rd gen never had those thread gawling, disk falling off POS plugs and never should. Plugs need to be pulled every now and then and read.
