Temperature Sensor

I replaced my sensor today and the guage still doesn't work. When I start the car the guage goes all the way up and then down (is that normal?). Am I missing another sensor somewhere.

While the car is cranking, it's going to shoot up to the top. They all do that.

The gauge sender is the one in the drivers side head, and the ECM sender is by the thermostat housing. TBI cars have a switch on the passenger side as well.

Hey JZA, can you be a little more specific on the locations of the gauge sensor, and the switch on the passenger side.
