FUEL TANK SENDER need help!!!
I HAD TO REMOVE MY FUEL TANK AND SENDER TO REPLACE MY FUEL PUMP ON A 1992 CAMARO 5.O LITER.
Now the gauge only reads half, when it is full. I must have bent the thing getting it in there.
Was wondering if anyone had one out of there car that wasnt bent and they could make an outline of it so I could bend mine back in the right direction.
thanks,
CJ

I would drain the fuel and pull the tank again.
Take out the sender and wire it up and unplug the fuel pump.
Play with the arm while some one watches the gages. Make sure that the gages work with the sender out of the tank and that you are getting a full high and low.
If this check out, make sure that you can get the same movement inside of the tank.
You could then experiment with the sender in the tank by tilting the empty tank outside the car to see if this works. You may need to run some jumper wires to the sender from the factory connection mounted on the chassis above the tank.
I would do this before I bent the float and reinstalled it without testing it first.
I would make sure that the sender isint damaged before I bent the float and put it all back together.

I know the sender works correctly, problem is its bent from original shape.
If I had something to compare it with I could rebend it to original configuration.
