Power Steering Belt/87 IROC 305

Put a new belt on the power steering pump. Took forever to get the pump to budge so I could get the old one off. Can't get the power steering pump back in place to tighten the tension. Help please!

Theres a bunch of bolts, did you get them all?

Let me see if I can remember... There is the pivot bolt next to the water pump, a bolt just below the AC on the back side, and then there is a nut down below that and its almost impossible to see and to get at. Make sure those are all loose.

When tightening, overtighten it and then throw the AC belt on, that almost always loosens up the PS belt and makes it about right.

Whatever you do, DON'T pry on the reservoir!! If you do that, it will distort, and the huge O-ring in the front of it where the pump body sticks through it will leak forever.

There's a little round boss on the water pump, and a tab that sticks out of the bracket on the front of the pump, near where that adjustment bolt goes. Use a large prybar of some sort between those 2 points to tighten it.
