Use the spare key.

Call a locksmith.

Use a lock bar (if you have one) .

Use your picks and shims to set and open the lock (if you have them).

Try to reach the release switch or slide **** with a stiff piece of wire (without damaging the window seals) and slide or depress it to release the door.

Yup, I can break into any 3rd gen this way in under 20 seconds. I have had to do it more than once and its pretty easy to do by yourself. Only difference is I grab the glass at the top and pull it out. Since there is no upper channel for the glass to sit in it will bow out a good 6", or just enough to reach in and unlock it.

Um. You're overlooking one thing. You said "unlock the t-tops". Ok, so, with that key you ust to unlock it, you save the effort and unlock the door!

But also remember the more we know about how to steal them, the more we can try to protect them

The article is from a pathetic stand point but still a good bit of information to attempt to prevent.

Yeah all info is good it's the "pregnant tropical fishes" that use it thats the problem.

I've 3 different locks on my car, plus the ignition, only 2 keys. The door I have the key for got frozen shut and now is waiting for spring till be fixed. until then any passengers have to crawl over the center console. My key coded ignition crapped out on me the other day and had me stranded for an hour fiddling with it...
I've taken to throwing a tarp over the car at night so the doors don't freeze shut. The car runs without the key but only starts with it in!!!!!

I have trouble getting in and going so good luck to some **** hair plucking ****** who would want to steal it..

Re: Locked out!

I use my lighter pull the window from the modling out to me, grab with fingers, with slow steady, hard pressure pull window to yourself, then u can get your arm in there to get the t-top lever or use a coat hanger to poke ur trunk release switch if you dont have tops or they are locked
