My 87 IROC with a 305 TPI, 700R4 96K miles does this hesitation thing during slight acceleration. At about 1/4- 1/2 throttle, it sounds like it's missing, but when cruising or flooring it, it sounds fine. I replaced the spark plugs and cap and rotor, changed the fuel filter, and unbelievably, it's worse! The car is only driven about once a month; I don't know if that makes a difference. Any ideas?

The stock tpi EGR ain't crap until you have changed or attempted to reach one on a superram intake.

What about your wires? It sounds like a cut/burnt wire.

it's not 'too' bad..

it took me about 2-3 hours to do it, but i had my Dad hold the wire in the OEM shape while I heated it with a match so that all of the bends look stock...

you really have just 2 main on the pass rear of the intake, the one going from behind the EGR up to the front of the throttlebody and then the one from the TB over to the drivers side..

CO, I have fried too many wires on my headers, when I stomp on the gas you can't tell there is a miss, however in the lower RPM band, you will notice a miss or slight hesitation. It would be obvious only is seriously damaged or completely cut.

I forgot to mention, the car only gets about 170 miles to a tank of gas, and there was black carbon buildup on the plugs. I also changed the O2 sensor.

It may be an ignition pickup coil. Sometimes they get an intermittant open... Do you have a problem of frequently changing modules?
