removed ac pump now for...
I have removed the ac pump and hoses it was dead. Now I need toget rid of the radiotor like thing, I think its called a condesor. Do I have to drain he rad and remove copletely to get rid of condensor? Also what do I do with the box thing on the fire wall? Can I get a plain heater box from a junk yard or what? I live in he great UP of michigan and it doesnt get that hot and even when it does we still got lake breezes.
thanks for the help

You aren't going to gain much for horsepower by ditching the air conditioning. And when you sell the car the guy (or gal) won't be impressed that it is now gone.
Just get it fixed or leave it alone and fix it when you sell it. It will work out better all around, even if you don't care about having a nice cool breeze on a hot summer day.

Ive been in your situation before I stripped my z28 down and did it the right way, I can tell you this save everything!!!!!!!!! ahh a few more !!!!!!!!!
Ok if you insist on doing this "I do not recomend it" find a non ac equiped fbody and get the heater box and the controles to at least make it look like a poor boy special.
The condenser is not bolted in just take your shroud off slip the radiatr forward and jiggle the condensor out then replace. But before you do that you might want to slip a transmition cooler in there now that you have ample room. I would just replace the heater box and not bother to rip and tear everthing AC related out and you should be set.
Hope you dont get a sudden heat wave.

The system was disthcarged and teh pump wasnt functional, it why I got rid of it. Thanks for the advice, but its really not needed were I am at. If I have a manual trans can i still add a trans cooler? Also should I put in some electric fans and take out the factory fan that runs off the engine?

Matt,
I don't think a manual tranny needs a cooler of any sort, except if it is some kind of monster road racer doing 200mph!
You can ditch the slipper clutch fan assembly if you want but there really isn't any good reason to do so. A lot of guys with the electric fan setup are really unhappy with it. They are totally nervous when it comes to stop and go traffic, as the fan won't kick in until it is almost too late.
