HELP! Fuel/AN Fittings and Hose Q
HELP! Fuel/AN Fittings and Hose Q
Okay, I have never worked with fuel fittings and hoses b4, and I'm kinda stuck. I need to connect up the following:
Hose 1:
Fuel Line (3/8 flare male) to Regulator (3/8" NPT female)
Hose 2:
Regulator (3/8" NPT Female) to Carb fuel line (3/8" Inverted Flare Female)
If someone could tell me what fittings and hose size to use (either twist-lok or braided) It'd be most appreciated.

3/8 is -6, i can't quite picture what you're doing but if you take what ever fittings you can to an industrial hydrolic supplier you can get hoses made a lot cheaper than buying the fittings for hot rods from jegs, only draw back is you can't get the pretty anodized ones.

Are you trying to connect to the stock hard line in the engine compartment? What type of carb do you have, or do you have a dual feed carb line or something already?

I'm not sure how your factory line ends now, but I like to cut the end off, slip a tube nut on and flare it. You'd need something like:
<table border=1><tr><td><strong>Qty</strong></td><td><strong>P/N</strong></td><td><strong>Description</strong></td></tr><tr><td>1</td><td>581806</td><td>-6 Tube Nut</td></tr><tr><td>1</td><td>581906</td><td>-6 Tube Sleeve</td></tr><tr><td>2</td><td>820166</td><td>3/8 NPT -6 Hose End</td></tr><tr><td>2</td><td>800106</td><td>-6 Hose End</td></tr></table>
And enough hose to reach everywhere.
The P/N's are Earl's, but you could use Aeroquip fittings and hose too. Aeroquip doesn't make pipe thread hose ends, so you'd need 2 more -6 hose ends and 2 -6 AN to 3/8" NPT adapters.
