AC Question

lets just say if i dont go somewhere to get the freon drained, whould the 2 shrader valves need to be pressed to drain all the pressure or is there anything else that would need to be done to make sure the pressure/freon is gone b4 fittings are loosened.

Now, you wouldn't really want us to connive with any illegal activities, would you...?

Yeah, stand back and use a screwdriver to push in the shrader valves (looks over shoulder for EPA ) not that i would do something like that.....Just make sure that stuff don't get in your eyes.

Considering that the stuff costs like $35/lb or something these days, seems like that would be pretty stoooopid... kind of like opening your wallet and dumping the contents in the trash.

How about, take the car to a shop that has a recovery machine, and see if they'll give you something for your Freon.

I bought a keg of R134a last year for $65.... Now it retails at $250... even R134a is going to be expensive this year...
