Installing retro fit roller lifters

Ok a friend of mine is turning his 86 non-roller cam 305 into a roller camed 305..

Just one question about how to install the lifters.

On the lifters there is a bar that connects the 2 together so it doesnt spin in the bore...

Somy question is. Which way do ya put the bar? Towards the cylender wall or towards the valley?

Thanks

What brand of lifters, and is it a dog-bone link or a flat plate?

shouldn't matter as long as it doesn't hit or bind on something. if it were me i'd put a couple of pairs in, one each way, set up the push rods and clearance the valves and turn the engine over a few times to see if there are any problems. i believe most of the ones i've saw the bar is towards the cam.

Vader it is the dog bone style lifters. I cant remember who made them. I know that Bill (IROCZ4BD3) got them off of Dan (ws6transam). So if Dan sees this post I am sure that he'll tell ya.

Ede thats what I was thinking too. It really shouldnt make a differance at all.

Thanks again!

Whooo hoo my 1000th post fianlly!!

For yer guys info I figured that I tell ya that the lifters canonly go one way. The bar that is holds the lifters together hast to go in towards the lifter valley. There isnt any room at all for it to go next to the cylender wall. In matter I couldnst even get them into the lifter bore cause of that lol
