dipstick atachment on edelbrock headers

how did you guys get the oil dipstick tupe to bolt onto the headers? I've bent the hell out of mine and it's still like 2-3 inches from the mounting hole. any ideas would be great. thanks

Jim

No, but if you find a way... Mine just kind of leans off to the side and I don't think the dipstick reaches all the way down...

Use a spacer (pipe) the same length as the thickness of the original exhaust manifold minus the thickness of the header flange, use an original bolt. Put the spacer between the header flange & dipstick tube tab.

My Hookers came with it. Hearing all the "issues" people have had with TES & Hedmans, I'm not minding the extra $45 I paid for mine.

I used a spacer on mine but also had to do some 'adjusting' of the tube to get it to look good. I did mine on an engine stand though, which made it much easier to see what I needed to do. If you massage the tube a bit and get it completely seated into the bore that it goes into before you bolt up the passenger header all the way, it should line up decently enough to get a bolt through it and into the head. I think I ended up using one of the existing manifold bolts for it as well. So it is possible to get it bolted up to the header instead of using that gay lookin clamp thing they provide with the kit....... just gotta mess with it a bit .
