will bad valve seals cause hard starting?

I have come to the conclusion that these critters are what is causing my plagueing hard starting...after the car sits for more then 20 minutes you have to crank it a good minute to get it to start...

Am i off base?

It would have to be a really, really, severe valve seal and guide problem to cause hard starting. After it sits 20 minutes, crank it for just a little bit--don't start it. Then pull the plugs out and see what they look like. My 'guess' they will smell like gas(flooded engine). That is purely a guess. If they are oil fouled then maybe the seals and guides are guilty of the hard start.

350 with stealth intake, holley carb, 470 lift cam. 700r4 with .5 boost valve, vette servo, tci lock-up kit, B&M megashifter. Richmond 3.73 gears, powertrax locker, timkin bearings, synthetic lube. Custom 3 inch single into 2 2.5 pipes. 1 1/2 drop springs, 1 5/16 solid front sway bar, 1 inch rear bar, custom subframe connectors, custom LCA relocation brackets. Kobel ground FX, current red metallic paint. Lots of other stuff...

So if they do smell of gas then would that indicate leaky injectors?? This makes sense... i will have to check my iinjectors when i get a chance..
