a/c belt vibration

a/c belt vibration

can anyone advise me how to get rid of the a/c belt vibration when the compressor is engaged? i have tried long belts, short belt, intermediate belts, checked the p/s and a/c brackets for cracks, tightened the belts till i almost roll the car over and still i get the vibration.....help

that is what the compressors do. they tend to vibrate alot when engaged

Engine: 305 Tuned Port Injection
If you figure it out, let me know. I bought my 85 IROC-Z new and the A/C belt looks like it's going to jump off the pulley. Fortunately it never has. I think it's just something you have to put up with.
