is a ground on the TPI as good as a ground on the head?

temporarily i'd like to bolt the grounds onto my TPI setup rather that on the rear of my head. Unfortunately, the rear of the head is very hard to get at without removing the distributor, could I ground to the TPI for testing or would I not get a good ground there?

Thanks,
Colin

i used copper anti-sieze on the intake bolts so i should be able to because copper conducts electricity really good, right?

It should be fine. The bolt heads on the intake and the threads on the bolts themsleve pulling on the heads, should have adequate continuity.

If in doubt, you could run a ground strap, like the one going to the firewall, to the exhaust/header bolt...wouldn't look too out of place.

Fixed!

The ECM is now being grounded and oh my GOSH...

this is the car I remember, rubber straight through first!!! w00t!

not bad for a 305, then again I guess the 4.11s in the back help out

still have a few vacuum leaks, and this persistant misfire, i dunno where that's coming from but it's annoying as hell..

ah well, it's serious fun now, just need iron out the bugs..

thanks for your help, Mike

Colin
