Tip and Tools for removing oil sender and fan switch

I'm looking for any tips and tools that would help when replacing my oil sender switch (above the oil filter '91). I think the size is a 27 metric however on the factory one the head isn't the widest part and it’s recessed. I have headers so the fan switch is hard to get to and I think its 7/8 but I’m not sure.
