A.I.R. pump

My smog pipes off the manifold are broke. I read that it's possible to remove the A.I.R. pump and all the smog crap without any adverse affects. I was thinking of removing it all and getting the smog delete pulley. Any input is appreciated!

Unless you need the space for something else, or are doing it for a specific reason, I'd say just fix the hose. Or do you mean the actual air tubes off the manifold? Replacing them would be easier than welding all the holes closed properly.

You can get headers with AIR pipes installed just hook them up and then you are still legal with the smog inspectors

If you don't have a visual emissions inspection to pass, and you get your cats hot enough to light off and clear out completely each time you drive, you shouldn't need the A.I.R. plumbing to the manifold/headers. If you have a modern cat with no aspirator tube, you can eliminate the air injection system altogether.

Then again, if you are required to pass an inspection, you may need to patch up the system.

I've tried to weld up the injection tubes on Corvette factory tubular manifolds, and it's no fun chore.

I would guess there are pipe plug fittings that would fit the openings in the exh manifold. I just removed a set of air tubes since the large top connection was broke anyway. The two fittings at the rear pointing up (#7 and 8) broke leaving most of the fitting in the manifold. I used map gas on them too. The rest came off no problem. I will wield the broken ones over but will attempt to find plugs for the others.
