emission crap
emission crap
Do you gain power by taking all the emission crap off. Is it worth taking it off. I was thinking about taking it off, but can't decide. Please help. Will It cause any problems? It was TBI, but the owner before me changed it to carbed.

I don't really think it's a power adder. It sure does open up your working area though. I've had no problems at all. I left the air pump on but I gutted it. That way I still have the pump pulley and am able to use the same belt.

No it is not a power adder at all. I removed all of mine pump and all. I even took off the air tubes from the exhaust manifolds and I have no problems at all. Well one but that is due to underdrive pulleys I think. I have a small charge problem. You will need a few parts when you do this. If you have the manifolds you will need 1/4" pipe threads and one 1/2" pipe cap. You need a torx wrench I think 40 not sure though and a 10mm socket. Also you will need to look at madmax's article in the tech section for belt rerouting if you pull the pump off.
