Antifreeze Additive??????

Lately in this 90-100* weather, my car has been heating up driving around town around (220* and climbing, that's when I turn my heat on). I have a new aluminum radiator, 160*stat and new radiator cap. The coolant level is fine and the car normally runs 170-180*. I have heard of this stuff called Fast Forward ( I think that is right not sure), supposedly lowers temp. I have heard from one person that it works, anyone else used this or other additive.

there are several, NOS makes it, water wetter is another, royal purple makes it. it works but it isn't a cure all for a bad cooling system

Watter Wetter and such basically helps remove air bubbles from your coolant. Removing the air bubbles allows the coolant to transfer heat more efficiently. I have heard some say it works, I have heard others say it made no differance. As mentioned above, it is no substitute for a poor performing cooling system. Try running a mixture of 20% antifreeze/80% distilled water with a bottle of Water Wetter or something similar. Water has better heat transfer properties than antifreeze, but the antifreeze provides lubrication for your water pump. Check your water pump, make sure your air dam is in place. Lastly, you may have a bad Thermostat, new or not. Also, are your fans kicking on?

I just want to emphasize what scram said. Try running a thinner mix of AF to water. Guido's car was running hot after he got the blower on just a few weeks ago. He dropped the AF mix from 50/50 down a good bit and his temps went from 220-230 to 190-200.

Never overlook the simple things. It's also not out of the question that your new rad cap is bad outright, but thats doubtful. Or a bad t-stat. Or loose hose clamps.

Flush the system and adjust your mix.. I use watter wetter here in FL... For 6 bucks that snake oil can't hurt.. Is worth a shot...
