IT'S ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, as some of you may have known, but im sure most don't, a bought an 85 IROC back in Febraury that had been sitting in some guys backyard for the past 14 years. When we got it home we started to work on it and then got sidetracked. Well last week I decided it was time to get it running, which required a new gas tank and fuel pump. I ordered them both and went to work at ripping the old one out. When the new one got here this morning i immediatly went out there to put it in. Well, i started at 9:30 and im just now getting done, and i haven't even put the rearend back in yet!!
But anyways lets get to the good part. i put a battery in it, and tried to start it, but it didn't go. I immediately thought that i had installed the fuel pump wrong and i would have to take it all back out again. but before i did, i shot some starting fluid into the plenum, and low and belhold, she started right up!!!!! Man did it sound mean (probably because there is no exhaust past the cat right now). Im so happy and proud of myself right now i just had to share with someone!!
yeah i know its non tech, so just to keep this open for a little while, when i started it up ( i have to use a screwdriver to do so) i left the starte running for a good 30 seconds after it started, could i have damaged it? how would i know
