Likely Suspects

My car is sputtering from lack of fuel or spark. So I've narrowed it down to the distributor module or the fuel pump.

It idles and revs strong like usual when its sitting in Park. But once its in a forward gear it accelerates really choppy. You can hear the car sputtering from the exhaust pipe and the car jolts around. Its worst at 30mph in 3rd and 4th gear.

What do you think is causing this or any one else who experienced this.

It could be a few possible causes..but if you have it narrowed to the module or fuel pump there is a 95% chance it's not the module.

Try a fuel filter first, before you replace the pump. Check the pressure too, before you replace it.

What's the old saying? 99% of fuel problems are in the ignitioon and 99% of ignition problems are in the fuel system.
