1st time timing the motor

Ok, so I finished up the rebuild of the 305 in my 84' T/A and droped the motor in and after I got everything reinstalled I got a chance to start it up for the first time. It started right up no problem and after I worked out a few new engine bugs I started goofing with the timing to try and set it to the cams specs. Cam specs say to set the motor at 5 degrees BTC before you drop in the dizzy, which I did and then once the motor is running advance the dizzy untill 14 degrees is met with a timing light, no problem, I understand that but what I dont understand is the damn VECI label says to disable the EST by disconnecting the 4 wire connector on the dizzy, and then the shop book says there is a one wire connector you need to disconnect. The only 4 wire I see on the dizzy is the main harness and the car wont start with that not connected and I cant find a one wire disconnect, so which is it?? The book has a pic of the one wire but I cant find it in the car, mabey its for TPI motors and not mine?? I went back with the CC q-jet with my new manifold.

If someone could just show me a pic of this 4 wire connector, it would sure help. I guessing that you disconnect the wire BEFORE you start the engine?

Set timing Connector

The set timing connector is located hanging out of the large wiring harness that goes over the HVAC housing, you might mistake it for a fuse holder.

ESC module is to the left of the wiper motor, behind brake booster.
