question about 87 TPI engines (general)

Car: 1984 Camaro on steroids/ 1987 iroc-z28 5 speed.
Engine: 383 nitrous motor / poindexter 305
Transmission: Th350
I am about 80% sure no. I think the newer ones have 168 tooth flywheels and the older ones have 153 tooth flywheels.

Mine does lol. Just as long as the bolt holes line up, then you can use it. There's no such thing as a "2 piece rear main seal starter" or "1 piece rear main seal starter". You WILL need to swap flexplate/flywheels to the appropriate tooth count per the starter (on ours I believe it is 153
) .
But yeah, just as long as your block has the correct starter bolt holes... And if it doesnt, you can always take the block to a machine shop and have them do it, it's no big deal for them, and they charge less than 50 typically... which is less than you'd be paying for a new starter if one would fit that bolt pattern (there is none for our cars btw, no if's and or buts... there's not a single one)
