non third gen question
I have a 1989 chystler new yorker. when I go to turn on the car the lights dim out completely and the car will not turn on. I thought that it was the battery so I went and put in the battery of my camaro(this battery was charged to the max, 1000 cold cranking amps) and the same thing happened. the jumper wires that I used to connect the battey were very hot. what could be the problem. I know its not the ecu because I already replaced it. what could be doing this

For starters, check all your connections and grounds...keep in mind, just because they look good, doesn't mean they are.
The starter could be drawing too much amperage.
