i was driving doing some checking with temp and all and i drove my car from about 0-50 under full trottle then rolled for like 30 secs and full throttled up to about 85-90 when i came to a quick stop i saw smoke on the right side of car i figured it was brakes since i could smell them. then im driving i have this real rough acell to about 1500 rpm then it is smooth but up to there it is real ruff. then i went to a mall came out about 3 hours later started my car and i heard a knocking/tapping pretty loud i can hear it with windows down in car (no underhood ins) and i still have this rough acel that i originally thought was breaks rubbing since sudden stop. i looked under my car for oil didnt see any and its night time so i cant go under hood looking. im worried its my only transport its drivable it seems but real ruff to 1500 and doesnt sound good the loud knockin tapping sound.

any idea on what this could be im hopping i blew a header gasket cant check yet. but a blown header gasket can that cause ruff accell?

Should have stoped it right away. Might have blown your engine by keeping it running.

Rods knocking is likely what you hear. Hope it isn't. I'm not there to hear it but if your description is right....


Your engine sounds like it's screwed.

i hope its not that im probally going over to my mechanic today. is this fixable do you think and what kind of estimation do you think it could cost? i hope its fixable i need this car and what could happen from driving on it?

I have a a banging noise coming from the engine when i put the car in reverse. Sounds like its missfiring when in drive too. I have a massive exhuast leak from the donut gasket on pass side TES header. Can an exhuast leak cause fuel probs or these probs in a CCC car? Also have a slight vaccum leak at carb base (broke one stud). Cant get the idle back down from 1800 yet.
