Ajustable Push Rod Length Checker
Doing my finishing shopping for my 400. I need to know which length adjustable push rod length checker i should get because they have some from like 6.5-7.5" and some from 7.5-8.5" etc etc. I wont wanna buy 2 of em . Anywayz solid roller cam, AFR 220 heads, 9.025" deck, .039" head gasket. What do you guys guess the pushrod length would be so i can get an ajustable pushrod in that area. Thanks fellas. Appreciate it.

What size rockers are you using? I have the competition cams adjustable pushrod (summit #CCA-7901-1)The size is 7.5 to 8.7. This is what I used for my vortec 350 with LT4 hot cam and 1.6 roller rockers. Yours for 12.00 shipped.

I'd call AFR and ask them. Reason is this was one of the big problems TFS ran into with their G1 heads. Some of the lenght checkers did not work properly with their casting. Main reason I beleive was the valve configuration, however, I never really looked into it to verify if that was the only reason or if there were others. I'm a bit **** when putting together stuff.

I'm pretty sure hydraulic roller pushrods are 7.200
I don't know about solid roller. I need to get a checking pushrod myself... but I am looking for like 6.800 to 7.500 or somewhere around there.

Solid roller ones are all over the place. There's not just one "standard" length, like there is with stock hyd rollers.
SBC push rods are 5/16", usually.
The tool I use is the Comp 7702.
