Fuel pump problem! Need some help urgently, Please!
Car just died yesterday. No fuel, pump seems to have died. Checked fuse, relay getting voltage, getting voltage on tan/white output of relay for 2 seconds with key, didn't get voltage at connector behind back seat. I also tried putting ground and 12 volts to pump, nothing. Where is the ground wire for the pump attached? I have seen info on the power to the pump being a tan or tan/white wire. My connector has a gray, purple, and a black/white wire. Is the gray 12v? is purple the fuel gauge? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks, Ken

My '89 schematics show tan/wht wire for 12v to the pump connection, then tan to the pump, ground is shown as black wire.
What you describe sure seems like the pump went south.

Seems that way to me also, Mike. But, I'm concerned that I didn't get any voltage on the hot wire with the key. Maybe wire shorted, burned out pump?
Thanks for the quick response by the way! I have two days to get the car running and out of where it is and I know changing the pump is a pretty big job.
Anybody else?
Thanks, Ken
