Knocking/pinging/ticking/clicking UHHHG

Im getting a diesel sound at high rpms and even worse under load (up hill) and then a nice brownish cloud of smoke from the exhaust untill I shift

What is this?
valve float? spark knock?
HELP!!!

check your ignition plugs,wires/cap/rotor.
May need a tune up. Also check timing.

All of those things are perfectly fine

this is a bit more complex than that.

Sounds like it might be running too rich... restricted air filter? chip?
