alternator bracket
my engine has 1 hole in the top left corner of the pass side head and 3 holes in the ds head. i am using a v belt setup and just running crank,wp,alt. i cannot seem to find a bracket that will work. i have a lwp and a vic jr intake. i did find a moroso mount 63842 but it looks to be for an alternator drive setup. will this work with a lwp and a v belt setup? looks like it mounts to the lower holes on ds head that are straight across from one another. can someone point me in the right direction?

Your problem is the intake. It lacks the rearmost bolt.
It is a racing piece, not a street piece. Don't expect to find accommodation for every street convenience on it. If it has weight, basically they left it off.
Race cars don't generally run a long water pump. They run a short one. It weighs less and takes up less space. Consequently people who make race car parts don't care whether their product fits a long pump situation or not, because the correct intended market for their product, doesn't care.
The only bracket I know of that MIGHT work, is the one for about 69-73 motors. It goes to the pass side water outlet bolt instead of the special boss on the intake manifold. In case the Vic Jr water outlet is in the same place as stock in all 3 dimensions, that one will work.
Or, I don't know what the rest of your motor is or what the purpose of this car is or any of that; but since the intake is the problem causing the alternator bracket symptom, you might want to look into getting a more ...... ummm, compatible intake.
Or, learn to fabricate stuff, because that's what racers (i.e. the people who actually use race car parts) do in such situations.

i already tried the old style bracket and it wont line up at all because of the water neck location. i will mount it anywhere, it can be low, high, mid. i wonder if a low driver side mount will work with a s-10 steering box? prob will rub though.

looks to me like it mounts to accesory holes on a water pump wich mine does not have. i needed to get a new one anyway so that the inlet size on my water pump matches up with my radiator. i was told to get a 86 model water pump. does the 86 model wp have accessory holes? i cant find a pic of one but since it goes in a v belt setup i am willing to bet it does. thanks
