i've run more hp than 400 with a 7.5 10 bolt with no problems. a lot depends on how hard it hooks up. some people have broke 10 bolts with stock engines.

I've run over 400 HP and way more than 400 ft-lbs of torque through my 10-bolt. Like the T-5, the one thing it will tolerate the least is shock; don't dump the clutch or speed-shift, and it will put up with a surprising amount of abuse.

What's wrong with your L69? That car should do about a 15.3 or 15.4. It's unhappy somehow.

well mines an automatic so i think it will b ok.....what if i had a 2500 stall on it...would that hurt it??

and yah i know i see these people with the same thing as me and they are runnin low 15's....i think my car is way outta tune.....im gonna get some money together and take it to a shop with a computer and have them tune it all back up

and on that 15.986 run my carb bogged right b4 i shifted into D so i guess i need to fix that too and it will b faster

A few improvements you can make:

All new bearings, use a crush sleeve eliminator on the pinion, late-model (28-spline) axles or even aftermarket ones such as Superior, posi to go with the axles, weld all the way around where the axle tubes go into the housing, housing girdle type of cover with cap braces, synthetic fluid
