I have a 88' Camaro with the 2.8L. I have done pretty much everything I could think of that is simple to remedy this hesitation.

The problem is when I first start the car for the day and press on the pedal it doesn't respond right quick. It takes it a while and thinks about it then it kicks in abruptly. However, once the car is warm the problem has gone away and is never seen till the next day when the car is started again after sitting for hours.

These are the following things I have done. I have changed plug wires, plugs, dist. cap, rotor, adjusted the tv cable, and replaced the O2 sensor.

I have noticed some greasy stuff on the back of the passengerside engine head. However I don't know if this is oil or possibly transmission fluid that once spilled out. No oil spots are ever seen under the car although the car does use about a quart or so between oil changes. I do hear a noise sometimes that sounds like something blowing through something. Well any help is appreciated guys.

Only two things comes to mind. coolant temp sensor, TPS need ajustment or replacement.

its gotta be a sensor problem. You changed O2, I'd check coolant sensor then other ones.

Well guys thanks for the ideas, but right now my car has taken a trip to the local Chevy dealer cause the engine will not start. The engine cranks, the spark plug wires make a spark, and the exhaust has back pressure, but it will not start. I am having them fix the car tomorrow so maybe this hesitation is part of what they will fix. Thanks for the help.
