question concerning friends ***** CRX?
after starting the engine when the AC is engaged the idle drops off considerably and furthermore when the head-lights are turned on and the AC is on the engine has a tendancy to die...

To me it sounds like the alternator is going out. Does the car have a voltage meter? If so, watch that, if it's fine until you turn some accessories on then dips down, it's probably an alternator.
Go to autozone or wherever and have them check it. I had a bad one that was only putting out about 15 amps, which is not nearly enough.

or, maybe if the RPM's are going to far down, then it could cause those problems. Plus, A\C's are realy hard on those 4 cylinders. Check the idle compared to that on the sticker under the hood. i had my acura idleing about 600 and it seemed to dip to 500 or so with A\C on.
