No codes 93 Bird, HELP!

I am trying to help a friend who has thrown 700+ dollars at a repair shop to fix her 93 TA. The car throws no codes but stumbles all over itself in the heat of summer but only after it runs for a little while. No issues in the winter?? The shop put in new fuel pump and filter and various other fuel system pieces. The fuel pressure at idle is 38psi, at WOT its around 45-48.
They also put in a new tstat and the car hovers at 230-240 all the time in hot summer weather. Before that it only hit 220 and cooled down from there.

I am going to put a 160* t stat in it to lower operating temps. The fans are controlled by the ecm, so she will have to change prom to lower turn on temp. I am leaning toward MAP sensor for runablity issues since they are cheap.

sny suggestions would be great,
thanks,
Mark

a situation like that i'd guess cap and rotor. the optispark for 93 wasn't vented and if any moisture gets in there it won't run for a damn. with the a/c going in the summer, it's going to show up way more as a problem.
