key doesn't spring back from crank
Heres my story, I took apart my steering column to tighten the four back bolts because my tilt was loose. After I got it back together I noticed that when I try to start my car the key doesn't go back to run. I checked to see if something was missing and the only thing I found was a metal clip (not sure what its for). I checked the parts schematic and didn't find it on there. Not sure whats up but I can't figure it out. Hope someone on here has had experience with it.
thanks

I ripped my column back apart again so that I can get a second look at the locking cylinder and the cam on the other side. Does anyone know how the spring on the cam is suppose look like? Thinking that I might have bent it when I tried to take the tilt off. Not sure but if someone know how it looks would be a big help. Right now the spring has an end that goes into a track looking recess on the side of it. The spring just makes contact with the end of the track when I start to turn the key to crank. But instead of it putting tension on the cylinder it just bends back. Hope that helps a little more.

appreciate it, I checked on it and found some info that helps. Wish I had a pic of how the spring looks just to make sure. I seen the diagram that vader posted and it had a good pic of it.
I'll try messing with it again tomorrow and if it doesn't work then I'll try and get another one.
thanks
