question about the airboxes

ok on my camaro underneath the 2 air filters there are 4 semicircular things held in with 2 bolts that say replace with ac filters would it hurt to take them out will it hurt my car and will i get a horse power gain from it reply soon incase its hurtin my car please

To answer your question no. It will not hurt your car. All that they are there for is to keep water from splashing on the filters and to keep them cleaner(than without them). I removed the two "little things" and it didn't hurt my performance but might help it a tiny little bit. It sounds a little better when i floor it. Every little bit counts.
