Octane Rating

While I'm thinking of it too... what does the manual call for concering minimum octane rating? 89 with a 305 TBI

probably 87, though I always pay the extra $2 per tank to get 93.

i always run sunoco ultra94 and i get way better gas mileage then with 87

What does the owners manual actually call for? That is what I am looking for.. since I dont have the manual for my rs.

87 is what is recommended by GM. Yup, regular gas.

I found that running higher octane gas was not cost effective for me, the mileage increase did not offset the additional cost of the gas. (This is my daily driver) I did like the way it ran better with the high octane gas, but, don't wanna spend that kinda scratch just to drive to work and back....

I only use 93, there is only 1 damn gas station around here that I know of that has it, everyone else has 91, and its more expensive!!

I can get 94 real close to work, and home. If I want to drive 15 miles I can get 100 at the pump. It is in a town with a population of 2, but they have tractor pulls, and mud racing a lot there.(all legal) And some of guys around here need it, so they do sell a lot.
