88 GTA L98, complete tune up tips pleez!
Hey all, want to give my new 88-GTA-5.7 a good tune up. What's the best way to go as far as new plugs, wires, cap what else should i do??? I want to mod it up slowly step-by-step.
thanks!
thanks!
I would go with a cap and rotor from MSD, bosch plugs(platinum or +4), and some 8mm wires that cost at least $40(hey if they're more expensive they should be better right?)

Change your PCV valve also, and maybe your fuel filter.

Get an MSD Cap an Rotor. For me I stay with good old AC Delco Plugs. For Wires I would go with MSD or Taylor 8mm Wires. Accel wires have been known not to be any good. A new fuel filter would be good and maybe take out the PVC and clean it with a can of carb cleaner. Timing your car would be good too. Time it to 6* Stock to start. Adjusting your IAC and TPS is also good. If your idle is where you want it just check the TPS to make sure its within .54-.56 volts. Next check the air filter, and change all fluids including the Diff. You probebly have a posi rear so remember to add the posi lube from GM. Swap motor oil over to Mobil 1 and your all set.

Look at the Tech Articles section for "Suggested Mods for TPI Engines".
