gas filler neck damaged
gas filler neck damaged
Hey everyone,
when I bought my car I didn't notice the gas filler was damaged. The ring where the cap fits is not perfectly round and does not seal tightly. So when I turn gas comes out of the cap and pours down the side of the car.
Can I cut the filler neck with a sawzaw and reattach a new filler neck with a gas hose?
Thanks for your help.

Um, no. Sawzall will definitely toss some sparks around, and that would just be bad news. Get a different tank from the local auto-recycler. If you can, get one out of a Turbo trans am, they had a larger gas tank, and I am fairly certain it will be a direct bolt in.
