New calipers on 88 and earlier rear???

I have a 9 bolt rear end with I think the early style calipers. Now can I change to the later style calipers? Do I need new rotors or can I stay with the relatively new ones that are on there now. Any ideas guys?

You need a bunch of stuff, like calipers, hoses, caliper mounting brackets, slide pins, rotors... lots of cost there, but it can be done. I think the e-brake cables are different too.

It's all different, nothing interchanges. But you can change over the entire system as a complete unit including the backing plates, calipers & brackets, lines, and parking brake cables; as an assembly it all bolts right up. You just have to find a donor rear end and take your axles out to do it.
