connection C105

Has anyone else had a problem with the 4 pin (my application uses only 3 wires) wiring harness designated as C105? It's an A/C harness with a large guage black ground wire, and 2 smaller guage wires(lt. blue, drk green). I believe they are for the high pressure switch and the compressor clutch, respectively. The black connector/harness is located on the firewall behind my map sensor. It seems the ground wire is building up a LOT of heat. It melted the original harness and is now doing a little damage on my repair job. Is this a common problem? Is the ground wire being overworked as it is a common for several other circuits? Any info would be greatly appreciated as well as any known solutions. I forgot to mention that I saw a Camaro at a junkyard that had the same problem. The harness was melted. Thanks.
